Stout is currently the best loved beer style in the UK – with sales up 35% year on year. In the fast moving brewing sector, where consumers are gravitating back to more traditional beer styles, stout is in the ascendancy, with Guinness leading the charge as the UK’s favourite beer. The Brennan’s brand was not fit for market, loosing traction, and not winning new sales in this fast growing category.
Insight
Brennan’s comes from the heart of County Wexford and is a true Irish stout with a strong family brewing lineage stretching back over a century. However, the brand was neither fit for the current, discerning beer market nor did it support the premium positioning that stouts are now commanding.
